I'm trying to do a deep dive into immunization rates, but I pulled these two up-to-date views into the impact COVID is having on independent pediatric practices.
If all goes as planned, this will be my last static blog update about the financial clinical data relating to COVID and pediatricians. Why? Because we're hoping to fire up a public page soon that gets updated daily. Stay tuned.
I've got a lot to throw at you. Jan will have an updated COVID-19 coding guide to me shortly and she will be presenting for SOAPM in a week or so (links to follow). Dr. Joe Hagan, of Bright Futures fame, has a video about how to leverage Bright Fut...
Paul Vanchiere and I have spoken often about looking into "claim submission delays" when consulting with practices about their billing challenges. Ultimately, we are interested in narrowing that gap as much as possible for obvious reasons - slow cl...
Before I talk about vision screening, here's my gentle reminder that it's time to sign up for the 2019 Pediatric Supergroup Meeting! The speaker lineup is awesome, the opportunity to engage with the best and brightest is intense, and the early bird ...
Brief recap: last week I shared some results from an analysis we did with Rexer Analytics. Our goal was to look through nearly a million independent pediatric visits to find patterns that might help us predict no-shows.
Can you predict when a patient is going to no-show? Perhaps not perfectly, but you can with a lot more accuracy than you might think. I've split this blog update into two parts. Part II will follow after folks have had a few days to digest this one...
Executive summary: what do independent pediatric practices think about their resources for practice management guidance? Not much. SOAPM wins, hospitals lose, and the AAP is somewhere out there.
I had a great time speaking to Drs. Bravo and Rogu on their growing podcast, The Pediatric Lounge, to discuss the state of independent pediatricians and the use of data in a pediatric practice. They are cranking out episodes (which is a good thing) and anyone who supports independent pediatricians should tune in to their effort. What they are doing takes a tremendous amount of work and their guest list is amazing (well, besides me). They turned our conversation into back-to-back episodes (32 and 33), "Independent Pediatric Practice 2022" and "Data Data Data and Managing a Pediatric Office." If you prefer video, you catch up on their YouTube channel.
