I've taken the last week or so off and, technically, I am still off asI sit at home in the kitchen to help keep the new puppy company. I havesome long overdue content to get out, but I'll toss up these gems fornow.
As you may know, I am on the CCHIT Child Health Workgroup. My participation is related, I believe, to my criticism of the certification and it’s misuse. But if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem, so there I am on the workgrou...
I have some very interesting continued news about TriCare and I've had a piece about Main Street Vaccines building for a week or two, now, but I have to address this issue first.
Over on one of the coding lists, someone asked for a copy of a "a sample discharge letter for non-compliant families who refuse to vaccinate?" and I could have sworn I had a few handy. And I didn't. A quick appeal to PedTalk got me a pair of items qu...
The other day, I wrote about a problem relating to Tricare’s reimbursement of immunizations. Apparently, this is an excerpt from the AAP’s Private Payer Advocacy press release or newsletter:
I’ve said more than once that the AAP is the first place pediatricians should go to learn about RVUs. They have updated it and you can now find their 2009 RBRVS Conversion Spreadsheet on-line. I got to help out by making a little change to the sheet ...
Igor and I have been doing some behind-the-curtain work to examine the impact of the recession on our clients. So far, the news is generally positive for PCC customers, but there are some signs on the horizon - or on the front page of your newspaper ...
No, I didn’t make it. I’ll chalk it up to not quite fitting to mold of a typical pediatric blog. But “Nursing Assistant Central,” whomever they are (there is no way to contact them on their WWW site), compiled this useful list. They did some real res...
I had a great time speaking to Drs. Bravo and Rogu on their growing podcast, The Pediatric Lounge, to discuss the state of independent pediatricians and the use of data in a pediatric practice. They are cranking out episodes (which is a good thing) and anyone who supports independent pediatricians should tune in to their effort. What they are doing takes a tremendous amount of work and their guest list is amazing (well, besides me). They turned our conversation into back-to-back episodes (32 and 33), "Independent Pediatric Practice 2022" and "Data Data Data and Managing a Pediatric Office." If you prefer video, you catch up on their YouTube channel.
