They said they were going to do it, and they did. The AAP has produced its first Immunization Fact Sheet (IFS) to contrast with what we presume will be a CDC anti-science VIS released soon.
The announcement is a good read and includes some great supporting content:
One thing I like about the AAP's effort is that it's specifically written for parents of children, and the perspective change from the present and more generic CDC VIS is subtle, but important.
Speaking to practices, I hear that our clients are going to add this to their existing VIS workflow (which, for many, is QR-code driven at this point) and look forward to sharing the AAP content. VFC requires that the CDC VIS be supplied, so the concept that is that this is supplemental content. If the Feds do anything to adjust their flu logic and content - like is clearly being planned for the MMR - then we will have the AAP to rely on.
