Before I give my annual RVU update, I'm going to turn the mic over to Russell Libby, recent Buzzy Vanchiere Award recipient, in a piece that I'll entitle "The Ghost of Independent Practice Future." Some of these...predictions will certainly come true...
No need to look for a good breast feeding presentation any longer. This is it. Every expecting family, every pediatrician, everyone you know should spend the 11 minutes needed to watch Todd Wolynn speak about breast feeding. It's compelling, it's fun...
Let me set the scene: this is a letter from a pediatric practice with both a child psychiatrist and a psychiatric NP (great start to a story!). A large, gorilla payer subcontracts its mental health care to another well-known "healthcare management co...
I originally started this blog as an effort to publicly share resources and stories that I've gathered over the years and boy did I just land a doozy. Thanks to Jan @ PCC, who dug up A Table of All Screening Tools and Rating Scales. I presume - and e...
A few weeks ago, I opened a survey to guage the satisfaction EHR users have with various laptops, tablets, and desktops. I wanted to answer questions such as, "Which brands do doctors really like?" or "Does screen size matter?"

I will admit it - I am jealous and regret that I didn't come up with this myself. I should have and didn't. The worst part is that it's so good that I can't really improve on it.
I get a few requests every month for when the next "pediatric coding or practice management conference is being held." Based on what I continue to see in most independent pediatric practices, this kind of education is still vital.
I had a great time speaking to Drs. Bravo and Rogu on their growing podcast, The Pediatric Lounge, to discuss the state of independent pediatricians and the use of data in a pediatric practice. They are cranking out episodes (which is a good thing) and anyone who supports independent pediatricians should tune in to their effort. What they are doing takes a tremendous amount of work and their guest list is amazing (well, besides me). They turned our conversation into back-to-back episodes (32 and 33), "Independent Pediatric Practice 2022" and "Data Data Data and Managing a Pediatric Office." If you prefer video, you catch up on their YouTube channel.
