It's been tough getting to the blog the last week or so. I've been busy getting ready for our Pediatric Practice Management Conference in August (why aren't you signed up?!) and will announce later this week a new AAP-endorsed event in Columbus, OH o...
I almost forgot about this, but Igor mentioned that a client asked for it, so here we are.I got the original idea from a couple sources, including the GA AAP and Island Coast Pediatrics a long time ago and posted their samples on PCC. The concept is ...
I'm busy writing another piece for the SOAPM newsletter and it's really taking up my time. I'm truly honored to be given the opportunity to provide them comment but, whew, it takes a lot of work. That is, it's one thing to ramble on in a blog (this i...
About fifteen years ago (yikes), I got a call from the practice I was just visiting in southern NJ. The doctor was looking for a report from Partner that would make his life easier. At the time, he needed some kind of age/gender registry count for so...
After the fall AAP meeting, I wrote about the inherent dangers of Microsoft's new Health portal. It should be no surprise that Google has gotten into the act - there are hundreds of millions of dollars in ad revenue at stake here, and that's without ...
The 96110 CPT code...now properly included in AAP preventive care protocols, thanks to Bright Futures. Many practices have performed the screening tests for years, but only few pediatricians actually bill for it. I've seen a lot of folks ask about bi...
Whew - after the conference on the 21st, I then spent a week in DC with my family (woohoo!) and have returned to over 160 follow-up questions that PCC has promised to answer. Those who attended the conference will receive a password-protected URL, ju...
Our coding/PM event is filling up. I have to update the talk about Pediatric Compensation Models with more recent data, but otherwise we're in good shape. This will be great.
I had a great time speaking to Drs. Bravo and Rogu on their growing podcast, The Pediatric Lounge, to discuss the state of independent pediatricians and the use of data in a pediatric practice. They are cranking out episodes (which is a good thing) and anyone who supports independent pediatricians should tune in to their effort. What they are doing takes a tremendous amount of work and their guest list is amazing (well, besides me). They turned our conversation into back-to-back episodes (32 and 33), "Independent Pediatric Practice 2022" and "Data Data Data and Managing a Pediatric Office." If you prefer video, you catch up on their YouTube channel.
