Medical Economics has commented on Susanne Madden's article about Medical Cost Ratios [link removed]. Haven't read it yet? Don't do so just before bed, it will keep you up.
If you're reading this message, you've probably noticed a change or two to the layout here. I'm just letting anyone who is surprised by this know that it's deliberate.
I've had a request to post some information about the 2008 RVU impact, but I've decided to wait a day or two for the dust to settle about the latest news. Hope you don't mind. In the meantime, let's return to a simpler time...like this year...when th...
All the RVU drama makes it hard for me to get to other things, but here is the latest from my generous and favorite inside source (instead of using an inappropriate 70s adult film nickname, we'll use "Siouxsie"):
I was on the phone yesterday with a client from Rhode Island who was taking the time to tell me about his practice's search for an EHR. To my surprise, they had flown down to visit another customer of ours in Tennessee to see what they thought of an ...
First, I have to be clear: my knowledge of the arcane RBRVS system, the RUC committees, CMS, etc., is all driven by my work for pediatricians. Thus, I have a very skewed view of how it works. Almost all of the changes to the CMS budget affect my clie...

I have a bad habit of writing my blogs late at night or early in the morning, which isn't always the smartest thing from both an articulation/clarity and family-relations perspective. This is a test to see if I can post something meaningful in 8 minu...
I had a great time speaking to Drs. Bravo and Rogu on their growing podcast, The Pediatric Lounge, to discuss the state of independent pediatricians and the use of data in a pediatric practice. They are cranking out episodes (which is a good thing) and anyone who supports independent pediatricians should tune in to their effort. What they are doing takes a tremendous amount of work and their guest list is amazing (well, besides me). They turned our conversation into back-to-back episodes (32 and 33), "Independent Pediatric Practice 2022" and "Data Data Data and Managing a Pediatric Office." If you prefer video, you catch up on their YouTube channel.
