You don't have to spend much time with me before you hear me mumble and grumble about certain subjects, one of my favorite being the (lack of) speed at which the AAP moves and how conservative it often is when protecting the needs of its members. Ima...
So, the furnace broke some time last night, just in time for our first real snow. As I waited at home for the repair guy to arrive (his truck broke down on the way), I’ve had to be on the phone with my neck scrunched for the last hour. Which means no...
I was privileged to receive a notice from the AAP’s Inner Sanctum about the recently released updates to our friendly RVU system and am sharing it below. Over the next few days, I will post some pediatric / RVU data relating to the updates that you c...
The Fall SOAPM newsletter has been out for a bit and yours truly did a piece on concierge medicine. I have a fun follow-up to it, too! Make sure you join SOAPM - it’s only $30/year - to get the rest of the newsletter…
The time has come to create some kind of social calendar for PCC at the NCE. It’s almost like going to your own wedding - you see people you’d love to spend some real time with across the room and the best you can do is give a wave. This was easily o...
I am two days behind, I admit, but the comments were live. Last year, I gave a little ’shout out’ to all the folks I’d seen and I am going to abandon that concept now, as the list would be over 100, easy. “You know who you are.”
My apologies for the recent hiatus. In the year and a half I’ve been blogging, I haven’t gone more than 3-4 days between posts, I think, except for the last week. Even during vacation. It’s just been a super busy week. We’re Shipping Out To Boston to...
First, Boston. Any faithful readers going to be there? We already have a pretty large, informal crew heading out on Sunday night, 10/12 and I know a lot of you will be at the SOAPM dinner (sponsored by PCC, of course…no one else cares about you :-))....
I had a great time speaking to Drs. Bravo and Rogu on their growing podcast, The Pediatric Lounge, to discuss the state of independent pediatricians and the use of data in a pediatric practice. They are cranking out episodes (which is a good thing) and anyone who supports independent pediatricians should tune in to their effort. What they are doing takes a tremendous amount of work and their guest list is amazing (well, besides me). They turned our conversation into back-to-back episodes (32 and 33), "Independent Pediatric Practice 2022" and "Data Data Data and Managing a Pediatric Office." If you prefer video, you catch up on their YouTube channel.
